#11 Movie - Fantastic Beasts

Assalamualaikum , readers !
            Today , I watched Fantastic Beasts with my friends at AEON Klebang . The movie was great ! I have fun watching it because the story was beyond my expectation . Moreover , potterheads ( Fiqa and Sarie ) were very loud ; they keep repeating all those magic words that were deciphered throughout the movie . I am really excited that I would like to jot down all the things that were told in the movie , But then , I feel bad to spoil everything .

             When I watched this movie , it reminded me about one of the episodes from Dr.Who . There is an issue in the story that is quite similar with it . From the movie , I learned that whenever we received any information or issue , it is better to investigate it first without jumping to the conclusion .  The main character , Newt , who keeps magical creatures , was being blamed for causing destruction in the New York City due to his three creatures that had escaped . He defended himself , telling the truth that it was not his fault . At the end the story , the culprit behind the problem is revealed and shamelessly , people who blamed him , ought to ask his apology for not trusting him . We can see that people who is innocent can be blamed if one make a rush decision without considering truth . Besides , conformity is also lethal that sometime lead to wrong decision . We are human and we cannot stand by ourselves . That is why we need someone in our life . Imagine being in a circle of friends and they are deciding to do an activity . Everyone is prone to do this activity and you are the only one who wants to do something else . You know that your friends make a wrong decision because the activity that they had chosen is dangerous or bad . But then , due to conformity , you agree because you just do not want to be different or left out .

#10 Movie - Juno

Assalamualaikum readers
           Today , I would like to review upon a movie entitled Juno . I had watched this movie before and I think it is worth watching for teenager .
          The issue that I had being brought up in this movie is regarding pregnancy before marriage . Juno , who is the main character in this story , was having an unplanned pregnancy that put pressures of adult life onto her . Juno faced two choices ; whether to abort the baby or not . Eventually . she chose to keep the baby . This story presented a message that child abortion is a mean way because it kills innocent baby . It was also encouraged the parents ,who have their unmarried daughter to be pregnant , to provide support and moral for them in facing a difficult hardships . Juno received many cold looks from her surrounding due to her pregnancy .  But , Juno was brave to handle that and managed to overcome all those things without feeling being oppressed . Supposedly , the community should not see the person who faces the issue as a parasite or plaque in society . We can never when the problem can happen to us . So , put ourselves in their shoes before judging their life.
           For me , I liked this material because I could know how is life for an unmarried girl to be pregnant in such early age . It was very difficult as it faces lot of cold looks from the society and entirely being burden by the extra cost that must be paid for treatment . Moreover , I could observe different perspective on how people view this issue in different country . In America , it was seen to be a normal issue , whereas , in my country , my society is totally oppressed this issue as pregnancy before marriage is seen as a disgraceful act for the family .

Reflection upon the debate tournament

Assalamualaikum , readers !

      Recently , our batch were having a debate tournament that lasted for three days . The debates were fun to watch and I learned so many things from them . Frankly , I am neither interested in debate nor do I ever participate one. It is never in my cup of coffee since I am not good in defending my stand ,
 moreover , I am easily swayed by others’ opinion . But , after being a debater and watched all those debates , I started to realize the importance of the debate .

      I claim that I have never participate a debate once in my life . Well , I am telling the truth . I do not know the format of the debate to the extent that the terms THW and THBT sound unfamiliar for me . Thanks goodness that Anis helped me through all the hardships since she is a former debater during her school . She was such a great help that I managed to stand as a Prime Minister and give my so-called speech .I was really nervous that I ended it too early . From that incident , I learned that I should prepare really well and understand my role carefully . Even though we lost , I learned that cooperation and teamwork is the key of success. If one speaker say carelessly , this will lead to fatality and will affect the whole team . 

      Besides , I also learned that believing in your claim is vital even though it is not realistic . During the three days tournament , the most interesting debate I found is THBT Earth is flat . At first , I had had this thought that obviously the opposition will win this case . Because I was too deluded with facts that I already learned during schools , I immediately bet the success of the opposition team . However , during the debate , my opinions were totally changed . The speakers from the government were very convincing : they poured all the information from concrete sources and they are such cunning debaters . All those points about Earth being flat  were somehow make sense that even I started not to believe science books and NASA . Who ever thought that even flaw things can be debated and win . Now , I understand that , in debate , believing your claim is important in order to emphasize your point to the people you are talking to .No one knows about your knowledge better than yourself . Therefore , be confident so that people will acknowledge your idea .  

      Moreover , whenever we receive new information,we should see it in different angle. In all the debates that I watched ,  whenever an opposition speaker spoke such a convincing point , my stand was easily fell apart and I cannot even sense flaw in his speech . But , when the next speaker stands , he managed to rebut the point successfully . I never think of that idea and reason yet he able to nail it . From that incident , I learned that we should learn ideas from different perspectives . In terms of making a decision , we should not prone to only one point of view without considering different angles. It is because , if we ever ignore them , they can be the main cause behind the failure of our agenda and can cause bad consequences.

       Overall , I really enjoyed the debates . Many new things I received and now , I knew that Amirul Afiq is such a great speaker despite his mysterious personality . 

#9 Movie - In Bruges

Assalamualaikum ,

     For this review , I will discuss about movie “In Bruges“. For me , I really like the movie because it discussed about an important issue . The issue is that who owns the life : God , people or ourselves ? In that movie , I could see Ken attempted to kill himself at the same time Ray was planning to murder him . Life was seen to be a petty thing that everyone can take it out simply . Through deep watching the movie , a question came out in my mind ; who creates us ? What is the purpose of our existence ? These were not my first time having such thoughts but somehow this movie recalled it back . Eventually , I turn to Islamic perspective on how life is view . 

    Did the ending match my initial impression of the movie ? Well , sort of . I always expect that every movie should have a happy ending and the main character survives . When I watch the movie , I always have the impression that Ken will survive together with his partner , Ray . I was expecting them to escape from their boss , Harry , but then , the story turns out to be different . When Ray was assigned to kill Ken , which is kind of ironic , my impression start to change . In the end , Ray was dead by Harry’s hand and Harry committed suicide for unreasonable reason : breaking policy .

#8 Movie - Much Ado About Nothing

Assalamualaikum ,
            Much Ado About Nothing is a story written by Shakespeare . In that story, it tells about two lovebirds , Claudio and Hero , and Benedick and Beatrice .

            One lesson I learned from the material is that the power of gossips can influence greatly on others who hear it . In this story , Hero had been framed to betray Claudio for having scandal with other guy . Claudio only heard one sided story and immediately believed it without considering the truth . Consequently , during their wedding , Hero was humiliated by Claudio's blame and suffered from his statement . In other part of the story , Benedick and Beatrice were never meant to like each other until those gossips rejoin them and they turn out to be a pair of couple . The gossips were spread by Claudio and Hero . They claimed as Beatrice and Benedick loved each other but it was not true . However , the gossips overpower the impossible and now , Beatrice who claims never like men , and Benedick , who states to be bachelor for the rest of his life , end up to be couple who are mad in love . From that story , gossips are really powerful things that can influence people thoughts and impression .
 
         Do I sympathize with the villain ? My answer is no , I did not . The reason why is because they are the one who spread bad rumors about Hero . John Don and his followers , Borachio and Conrade are the mastermind behind the blame . Spreading bad rumors about others could possibly put the victim in despair . It is because people who heard it will give cold look to the victim and the victim may suffer from the case . To make the matter worst , the victim may kill himself in order to escape the rumors . For me , I really hate bad rumors and the people who spread it . So , in that case , I did not sympathize the villain at all , in fact , loathe them .

#7 Movie - Romeo and Juliet

Assalamualaikum ,
           So , today , I spent two hours watching Romeo and Juliet on my laptop . I have read the script yet could not understand the flow . Two hours were worth spent on because I never watched a movie that use old English and it did impressed me upon the beauty of the language .
           Upon watching it , I found that the movie is humorous yet yield a serious topic . On the last scene , where Romeo drank the poison and died , Juliet complained on why not Romeo leave friendly drop  for her . I laughed hardly on her words that she even claimed the poison to be something that is worth to share for . But , it is a poison ! How can she talked lightly about drinking poison ? And , how can be humorous on such thing ? Maybe , I cannot blame too much on how old people communicate each other because the language is beauty itself ; the art to convey messages . About the story line , I do not say that I hate it or much , loathe it , it is more like , I am not prefer with such flow . Love for someone is seem to be more important that life , that Juliet took her own life for dead Romeo . I could not judge them harshly as I have never be in love before , but , to die for someone else sake is insane .
          The Romeo and Juliet story is worth watching and I would say that I would watch this movie again . I watched the 1968 version where it reflected on the lifestyle of the old times before modernization occur . The settings is what I prefer the most ; the old buildings , fountains and bazar . The old language does also attract my attention .
          I really recommend this movie as it is a worth watching for better understanding on this William Shakespeare's writing . This movie is not suitable for underage as it shows some inappropriate scenes , but do watch it , and you will not miss out the beauty of the old English .

#3 Novel review - To Kill A Mocking Bird

To kill a Mocking Bird review

   To Kill A Mocking Bird is never been in my checklist . So , when Miss Jo assigned us to read the book , it was quite difficult for me- not used with that kind of genre . But , halfway in fathoming the book , the story line caught my attention . I found it intriguing and funny , thus concluded that I enjoyed the book .

   To Kill A Mocking Bird written by Harper Lee is about a girl called Scout with her brother , Jem together with their father Atticus Finch. In the story , Atticus works as a lawyer , was assigned to help the client which is black to prove his innocence . Throughout the interval before the case was discussed , Atticus and his children had to face critics and teases from their neighborhood on how Atticus turned his back on them and backing up the black . In other scenes, the book also discussed about Mrs. Duboise ,Scout in school and their mystery neighborhood , Radley’s family . All this stories were having the same theme , focusing on what is wrong and right .

From the story , I learned that we should judge something unbiased . In the story , the black people who was blamed to be guilty has proven that he is innocence all along . But , due to the fact he is coloured , he was being judged to be guilty even though all the evidences have been shown . He was being lock up into prison and punished . In just being different , we should not judge them with bias . We should follow the law and being just to prove who is right or wrong . 

#6 Movie - The Longest Ride

             Yesterday night , I watched this movie alone ,wrapping myself with my red blanket , and totally watching it in darkness . Everyone had already asleep at that time . I could say that I slept quite late yet I am the earliest person to wake up this morning among my roommates .

           The Longest Ride . Upon reading the title , it somehow questions the audience about what is the story about . Is it about an adventure ? A ride to somewhere far away ? When I watched it , it is actually about the longest ride that everyone is facing and experiencing right now , even the moment you are reading this post . The longest ride is life itself . Life of each person .

             So , the story tells us about what should we do in this short time . Caring for your loved ones and do not selfish . In the story , Sofia and Luke , a couple , face many challenges and conflicts due to their different in their passion ; Luke is into Bull riding whereas Sofia really likes art . When each other learns about their partner's passion , they feel uneasy and not fit in to their interest . When Sofia starts to make Luke stop from entering any Bull riding competition , Luke is totally in mad and furious due to the facts that he cannot his passion as it is part of his life . He is selfish and end up loses Sofia . In the end , after hearing her mother's advice , he reunites with Sofia and convinces her that he will leave Bull riding . They start a new life and live happily ever after .
 
           I really like the story even though there are few scenes that are inappropiate . It is worth watching because the movie tells us good deeds and qualities on how we supposedly treasure our times with the loved ones . #5 Movie - Another Cinderella Story

Assalamualaikum readers ,
               I have watched Another Cinderella Story before ( when I meant before , its means way back then before I ever know MADPP ) . It is a chick-lit movie for a teenager especially girls .

                Mary , the not-so popular kid who have lost both her parents , live with her wicked step-mother and her two annoying sisters in a mansion . Mary is a really good dancer and she wishes to pursue her studies in a University where she can improve her skills . In the meantime , she encounters Joey Parker , a celebrity who studies in her school . He is very handsome , blessed with sea blue eyes and a charming smile , adds up with cute curly blonde hair . Girls are totally mad in love with him . The story goes on when their school hold a dance party during night . The thing about the party is , the theme is black and white and they should wear mask . Mary goes to the party and keeps aware of the time to not to pass the midnight or else , she will be busted for escaping . Coincidentally , she dances with Joey Parker and somehow , they become attach to each other . That night , Mary accidentally loses her music player and Joey Parker picks it . When he tries to search who is the owner , many girls claim that it is theirs . After few obstacles , Joey meets Mary .Many challenges they encounters , a misunderstanding , conflicts and much more . Eventually , the story end with such a happy ending where finally , Mary succeed to pursue her studies and also , lucky to be loved by Joey Parker , her crush .
               
                What I learnt from the story is that , as a person , we should not exposed someone secret as it is a breach of privacy . In the story , Mary's rival purposely shows a video of Mary when she was small . Mary is totally embarrassed because the video reveals her love confessions toward Joey Parker and Joey watches it . She runs away , feeling insecure that he might not like her . From that scene , I learnt that exposing someone privacy is not a good thing , instead it is really bad because the victim may feel depressed . Be it a good or bad story that being kept secret , people should not disturb it as it is a people's right .


   I really like the story really much and I really recommend the movie for any ages . It is appropiate and soothing as well , with few jokes and puns . Easy to digest , by mean understand the context and also the story is a modified of Cinderella's original story .

#4 Movie - Love , Rosie

  The story has a happy ending but somehow I found it tragic and sad . Haha . Irrelevant .

            Rosie , a British girl , has a best friend which happened to be a boy named , Alex . They were so close to each other since they were small up until they were adults . The problem is , they are too close that they unconsciously , love each other yet not realizing the feeling . As they try to deny their jealousy when each of them found a partner , things became worse . Rosie gave up on pursuing her studies due to that she is pregnant and Alex became stressed out after series of break up with his girlfriends . They became further apart yet still care for each other . In the end , finally , Alex realized his feeling toward Rosie and confessed through letter . However , it fell to the wrong hand which is Greg's who was Rosie' husband . Greg purposely hid the letter but when they broke up , she found it in a drawer where it was hidden . She was too late to admit her love when she heard Alex is going to marry Bethany . However , after hearing her friend's advice , she went to the wedding , claiming that she can stop it . But , again , she was late . Time passes by and Rosie liven up her dream ; having her own hotel . She worked on it and during the opening ceremony of the hotel , Alex showed up , saying that he wanted to book a room for himself . At that time , Rosie and Alex confessed their feelings . Finally , they were together again .

           The movie is really interesting  even though it's ending can be predicted . It is soothing and sweet on how they care for each other as they claim it is because they are only best friends . Apart from the explicit scenes , from the movie , I learn that we should care for each other . Like how Rosie and Alex , they always there to help whenever each of them is having a problem . 

           For me , I totally recommend the movie but not for children . It is because , the story shows inappropiate scenes which is not suitable for them to watch . By the way , I  totally enjoyed watching it !

Movie 3# - In Time

                   Last Friday night , I watched a movie "In Time" in theatrette 2 with my batchmates and diploma students . I was ecstatic because it was the first time we watched movie together and of course , the air conditioner , environment and the arrangement of seats made it seems we were in a real cinema .

                   At the first scene , the movie introduced about a world where human live and stop aging at the age of 25 . They will look young forever but , they only can live for one day . Every human in the movie has clock implanted in their  hand . The clock resembled how much time they have to keep living . In order to to do that  , they must gain time from any sources whether working , begging or even stealing . Once it hits zero , the person will eventually die . In this world , time is money literally ; they used time to buy things and such .

                        The main character is a guy named Will Salas , lived in ghetto , worked hard to get time . One night , he helped a man who had a century to live , escaping from thugs who were trying to steal his time . They managed to run away and spent a night in an abandon building . Next day , Will Salas woke up and realized his time increased up to a century . The guy left a massage "Don't waste my time" before committed suicide . Throughout the story , Will Salas was trying his best to improve people's life in ghetto . He went to New Greenwich and after few incidents , he kidnapped the daughter of a businessman named Slyvia Weis . At first , she became such a burden to him , but  somehow , she turned out and form alliance with Will Salas . This couple duo made a fuss in the states with series of breaking in  Weis Timelender's branches and also sharing times they stole with poor citizens . The Timekeeper which is an organization that is the same as police had been tracking both of them down , but , failed eventually . After many failures , the Timekeeper was dismissed . At end of the story , Will Salas and Slyvia Weis were planning to break in a bank . When I thought the story will go on , it ended abruptly with a scene they were entering the bank . The story was a cliffhanger but I enjoyed it really much  .

                  From the movie , I learnt that we must manage our time . This movie helps me to visualize the time as money and encourage me to spend it wisely . When people is struggling hard to gain time in the movie , we also should do the same ; working hard and use our time to the fullest . Do not waste time with doing nothing or non-beneficial activities .

                 I totally recommend this movie to the adults and especially  teenagers because nowadays , teenagers are too deluded with enjoyment without realizing their responsibilities for the nation as future leaders . As for children , this movie is inappropriate because it contains explicit scenes .

#2 movie - Conjuring 2

Assalamualaikum readers !
             Today , I would like to make a review about a horror movie , Conjuring 2 that I had watched last Wednesday . I am not really fond with this kind of movie , but , doing different things or I rather say unusual , may give me a good experience and new expectation . I had watched Conjuring movie before and I know a little about what this movie is mainly about . Conjuring is a movie that shows paranormal activities based on true story that happened in past . However , Conjuring and Conjuring 2 are completely distinctive - the cases  handled were not related at all - and the only things that make them connected are the main actor and actress who are the priests .

              Conjuring 2 introduce the siblings of five with a widow . They live in a small house near residential street and live happily . One day , a younger sister , Janet make some kind of ritual in her room called "spirit of the coin" . Her sister joined her , but after few minutes , they dismissed and went to sleep . After the ritual , many weird incidents happened in the house . The family had been disturbed by a ghost portrayed as an old man who claimed that he lived there before . He used Janet to deliver his messages and  ran amok , telling them to move away from the house . The priests , who are the main characters came to their place and tried to help them . Few discoveries lead to conflicts and betrayal . The story is totally engaging after the movie revealed the real protagonist behind the activities . In the end , the case had been solved and everything turned back to normal .

               If you are not strong enough in term of your spiritual strength , I totally not recommend this movie . Since it is based on true story , people who afraid of this kind of creature may easily feel haunted after watching the movie . They may sweating profusely without no reason during night with scary imaginations , and this can cause difficulty in sleeping . They also tend to feel afraid all the time . Worrying that the ghost can come up anywhere and anytime , they feel extremely cautious and excessively protective . This people will become depress and cannot live normally .

                There are many other consequences besides feeling haunted but I might cannot explain it as this is a sensitive issues regarding religion .

#2 Novel Review - Dragon Kiss

Assalamualaikum readers !
              I just read a novel entitled Dragon Kiss literally just few minutes ago . I know that I should not procrastinate this review like my past one ( which I had not settled yet though ) , so , I quickly turn on my laptop and my fingers are ready to battle against the keyboards .  By the way , it took almost a fortnight to read the book . Not that it is too hard to fathom or too thick to read , but it is just me who think that she does not have enough time to read  . ( :'( )

              The book "Dragon Kiss" is a sequence from a long series of books and it is the seventh . Eventhough it is a continuation of a book , I still can understand what the story is and get the main idea what the author is trying to imply . In a summary , the story is about an ice dragon named Audun who wants to marry a princess but faces difficulty due to their difference races ; dragon and human .The book mentions about the past story where Audun and the lady had met before . She , who is a human that can transform into green dragoness ,  helped his family that trapped in an eternal frozen ice . After the incident , he fell in love with her eventually and decided to have her hand . The focus is more likely toward Audun as he makes several attempts to convince his superior to let him turns into human and marry the lady he likes . He is being assigned to number of tasks to test whether he is worthy or not  . Suprisingly , he did his tasks really well and not enough with that , he also helps people during his journey . With the superior approval , his grandmother ,  who is the councellor of the Dragon Kingdom , teaches him how to transform . Upon becoming a human , he faces more obstacles ahead and fears of a wizard who tracks down his dragon's scale . At the end of the story , he did not regret his decision and manage to win the lady's heart :D .

               From the story , I learnt that we should help people in needs . There is a quote says " You get back what you give "  . Whenever you lend a help to people , you will be rewarded whether consciously or not .  It is not that I am telling you to help people and expect for the rewards . It is called of human nature to feel empathy toward others . Imagine that everyone in the world is not selfish ; this world can become a better place to live. Being empathy may not give you any money or beneficial to you physically , but , it gives out happiness to people surrounding and to yourself as well . #1 Movie Review - Zootopia

Assalamualaikum readers !

               I had watched Zootopia this evening . Interesting , cute and warming ; the movie was  totally a success . I was totally engaged and admired the main character.  The movie’s setting was in a place where animals lived together ; there is no sign of human living there of course . A female bunny , Judy was optimistic of becoming the first rabbit officer in the police department of nearby city Zootopia since she was little . Even she was graduated top of her class , she was excluded from handling case and was assigned to parking duty . She reluctantly accepted it. During her first day , she met a fox , Nick Wilde and his partner , Finnick . After that remarkable meeting , the story started to progress when Judy had to handle a case regarding missing animals and worked together with Nick who happened to be blackmailed by her . Few  evidences were found and lead them to the secrets behind the disappearance incidents . Their friendship was put into test . Their wills were pushed to the limits in order to prove the police that she is worthy . At the end of the story , there was a plot twist . The new mayor , who was actually seemed to be the good person throughout the movie ,  revealed that she was the culprit behind the case . Nick and Judy captured her and they succeed .  Afterwards , Nick became a police and worked together with Judy .

             What I learnt from the story is that we need to be confident with our ambition . Whenever people doubt about our future , prove and explain to them . Stand with our choice and strive for it . People’s perspectives are not important but that does not mean that we should take them for granted . As long as our plan is for the good , just get to it . We may feel discourage sometimes , but just ignore the feeling as we will soon be proud of what we had done before .  

              I , personally , agreed with the main character’s decision . She decided to become the odd when no one ever become a police from her troops . She was determined and often told herself by saying “ Anyone can become anything “ . Despite what her parents and people told her , she was now  the proud police of the Zootopia . I have been in her shoes before and I feel her . That is why , without a doubt ,  I nodded ; agreed .

#1 Novel Review – Project Fat Suit ( Wattpad )

Assalamualaikum readers !

        Recently , I had read a so-called e-novel in Wattpad Apps . The apps was really great cause you can read whenever and wherever you want just by bringing a small smartphone in your hand . By the way ,the title of the story is ‘Project Fat Suit’ . At the first glance on its synopsis , I thought the story will go plain and boring . But actually , it turned out to be the most fantastic things I ever read in my life . 

        The novel is all about a girl name Rena who actually started wearing a fat suit during her sophomore year ever since her mom died . She did not care about what people in her school talked about her and she had been alone all the time . Her brother worried about her wearing all the suit stuff  , but after a long time , he started to accept his sister’s decision . The story began when she went to a supermarket near her house without her fat suit on . Coincidentally , she met a friend (boy) in her school who was happened to work as a cashier there . She tried to hide her identity but unfortunately her wallet fell off and he picked it up . The secret was revealed when he saw her name on her license card  . The story goes on as the guy tried to help her throughout her life in order to increase her self-esteem and at the same time she learnt to love her friends and experience love in having a relationship .

        The novel is actually brought up an issue about a girl who misunderstood about how people should increase one’s self-esteem . In the story , she revealed that the reason why she wear the fat suit . Her mom died because she had been killed. Her mom liked to do charity and help people in needs . When she was offering a food to people in the soup kitchen ( house for homeless people to get food ) , someone shouted that she was being kind and adored by people made him annoyed about her actions . Her mom tried to calm that person when suddenly he picked up a knife and stabbed her deeply . Rena hold her dying mother in her hands before she passed away . Rena traumatized by her death and since then , she believed that if she became a fat and bad girl in school , students in her school will become more confidence with themselves as they hold the thought that Rena is worse than them .

           So , based on the story , I had learnt that instead of hiding your true identity , we should be ourselves and confident of being what we are . Rena had been hiding her identity for three years in her high school . Even though she was a bad girl , she was actually inherited her kindness from her mother that she liked to help people at soup kitchen . If she had been telling the truth in the first place, she would not scared of her secret being revealed  and people would treat her kindly .

         The book is really good to read and I would like to recommend you ( who is reading my blog ) to discover it . It was only found in Wattpad Apps and I told you , it is worth reading it . The genres are friendship and love . So , anyone who is seeking story based on these genres , please take a look at this book  .
